CRIODÁN Ó MURCHÚ

Hi folks, thanks for considering giving me your vote!

My name is Criodán, I’m originally from Westmeath and I am currently a Research Masters student in Environmental Science.
I completed my undergraduate in Chemistry in NUI Galway in 2020 and enrolled in my Masters programme in September 2021.
Presently I am a Board Member for two Irish charities, SpunOut.ie and Text50808. I am involved in the governance and fundraising of these organisations, as well as representing the volunteers.
I am an elected Class Rep within the Postgraduate Researchers and an elected member of the university’s Academic Council.
I am also a Lead Reviewer for ClimateScience.org, a science communication charity based on explaining climate-change and it’s solutions. I work with a large team of volunteers and have experience managing and collaborating on projects.
Previously, I was coordinator of the University’s peer-mentoring programme Student Connect.
With this record, I believe I have the varied and relevant experience necessary to illicit the greatest outcome from postgraduate involvement on the Údarás.
I am dedicated to furthering the rights of postgraduate students. This includes working for a living wage for all postgraduate workers, the right to disconnect, and living wages for all university staff..
I am also persistent on improving the experience of students in NUI Galway as a whole. This includes but I not limited to ensuring all lectures are recorded, transcribed, and mandatory attendance is abolished where feasible.
