My name is Niamh Malone, and I am studying my masters in Regenerative Medicine. I am seeking your vote as postgraduate student representative on Údarás na hOllscoile.

My desire to represent postgraduate students at NUIG stems from my belief that all voices deserve to be heard.  I am willing to listen, act accordingly and do my best for all.  I am prepared to represent you confidently, and provide a seamless connection and pathway of communication between you - the postgraduate student - and Údarás na hOllscoile.

I have acted as a role model in my community.  In my secondary school, I mentored first-year students school and I was elected onto the Student Council as class rep.  I have volunteered with the Alzheimher’s Association, and I was the winner of The Festival Queen competition at the Muckno Mania Festival in 2019.  From these experiences, I have learned to use my voice promptly and effectively.

Having ran for Ireland at European level in my individual event, I have developed resilience and determination that will be imperative to succeed in this role.  Being a member of the Irish relay team; I practised the vital skills of  good time management, teamwork, and communication, as well as the ability to cope under pressure.  

I wish to use my leadership from sport and my community to campaign and actively use my voice for the benefit of NUIG postgraduate students, and ultimately the university itself.
